September schedule update

Greetings from Tony, Paul, & Warren,

As we welcome in our new year on September 1st, we want to share ideas with you, which we will do after every meeting. We will be posting the minutes of the meeting on our website. We would like to welcome our new player “reps” (ambassadors) who are: 1.0-2.5, Faith Loeb & Beverly Bonnet-King; 3.0L-3.0, Judy Sparks & Nelson Swartzentruber; 3.0H, David Hoel & Linda Bourbeau; 3.5L, John Cox; 3.5, Doug Lilly & Walter Suescum; 3.5H, Jim Kabel & Marian Garcia; and at 4.0-5.0, Josh Booth. Sally Fuller will be coordinating the efforts of our ambassadors. Janet Kabel will be doing the minutes of our meetings, and Nancy Vermilye is our Social Chairman.

In an effort to keep this letter short, all the committees will be posted on our website after our next meeting on 9/7. We want to stress that our ambassadors will be attending all of our meetings and will play an integral role in all decision-making in the coming year. Any constructive comments you have may be directed to any one of us as we are striving hard to make your playing experience an enjoyable one.

  • September is being treated as a “ trial” month with input from you on what you like and do not like. The biggest change is the the elimination of "DIP court designation” (except for Friday evenings and Sundays). This results in much longer DIP times to give you more flexibility for morning play. If that doesn’t suit you, then remember you can always sign up for CRP, play at night, or play on our beautiful new outdoor courts. The evening time only has 3 courts, which gives us little flexibility, so that schedule is different from morning play.
  • We are considering a “mentoring day” on Thursday, September 29th, from 12:00-3:00 PM. It would entail signing up. We would have 2 players of skill level 3.5H or higher on each court to play games and give advice if people so choose. Please let us know if this interests you so that we can make arrangements for doing this. Space is limited. E-mail Warren at warrenandtina@gmail.com if interested.
  • We have put in a request for a ball machine.

There is much more to come after our meeting with the ambassadors on 9/7. If you have any comments you would like for us to address at the meeting, please contact one of us. Thanks.
