The minutes for the Leadership Team Meeting that was held Monday, January 6th, 2020, have been posted. Topics that were discussed included: Update on our new teaching Pros; Purpose/direction of the Leadership Committee; and a suggestion to have a player representative for Gregg Park.

Are you Interested in being a volunteer referee at the Aiken’s Palmetto Doubles Tournament later this summer? Or willing to help the referees but do not want to be a referee?

Certification or previous referee experience is not required.
As you may have seen, the response to the Drills with “Little Mo” has been phenomenal. All slots for the ones posted through the end of February were filled within a couple of hours. Per our request, Mo has agreed to do an additional one-hour session and the City has been kind enough to grant the extra time.
Starting Monday, January 27th, and each Monday thereafter through the end of March, there will be two sessions back to back (9:00 - 10:00 am and 10:00 - 11:00 am) in Gym 1. Both sessions will cover the same theme. The themes are listed on the calendar and the sign-up.
If you have signed up for a session and will not be able to attend, please remove your name from the sign-up. Players who do not attend and who have not removed their names at least 24 hours in advance will still be required to pay for the session. Failure to pay for missed sessions will make that person ineligible to sign up for future sessions.
Megan Hollenbeck, our newest teaching professional, will assist Mo with feedback and proper stroke technique.
We are going to try something different on a Thursday when Gregg Park also has play in an effort to increase the number of court reservations at Odell. As it is now, almost all of the reserve slots are being taken within the first twenty-four hours of being made available.
On Thursday, January 30, the schedule will look like this.
9 -11 am Drop-in play
11 am - 1230 pm Court reservations
1230 - 2 pm Court reservations
We are just reducing drop-in play by 30 minutes and adding the time to reserve court so we can split the time into two 1 ½ hour sessions - adding six more reserve court slots.
Again, this is only one day. If it turns out you all like it, it could be one day per week, - "Crazy Thursday". And if you don’t like it just tells us and it won’t happen again. But believe it is worth a try. And again, it is only one day.
Singles! Yes singles. The Wilson Family Y is hosting an OPEN division (all ages, skill levels combined) for men on February 24th, at 12 noon.
