Minutes from Leadership Team Meeting held on May 7th
 
Members Present: 
Joyce Noland, George Carr, Jody Madden, Dean Cheatham, Chuck Buchanan, Rich Peterson, Brian Eberhard, Jay Wilson, Marian Garcia, Lori King, Linda Blake, Jean Villa & Mo Garcia.
 
Feedback from Player Reps: 
Nothing to report from Odell Weeks. Brian Eberhard, player rep for Gregg Park stated that we will lose court time on Wednesday evenings because Courts are not being used. There will no longer be a second session on Saturdays at Gregg Park due to lack of interest.
 
Joyce raised the issue of players signing up for courts at Smith Hazel and don’t use them or cancel the bookings. She has suggested that players be considerate.  
George stated that generally, people that play there are very happy with the courts. and the red court lines.
 
Benches:
Mo said that the benches are due to arrive on May 25, not clear what the import tariffs on the benches will be.
 
League:
The spring league has been very successful in spite of players not having a full understanding of the rules which has led to disputes on several occasions. The league ends on May 28 with a banquet to be scheduled for mid-June. The Fall League is due to commence on September 8.
 
Rating Sessions:
The next session will be held the second week in June.
 
New Player Clinic:
The next clinic will be held on Saturday May 10, it is full.
 
Little Mo:
George heard good feedback from the clinic.
 
Palmetto tournament: 
We need more volunteers. There’s over a hundred people signed up already.
 
Sponsors:
Jody has got the Carriage House to give a gift certificate. Aiken Properties gave a check for $200.00. Eastern buffet will give discount cards. Jody hopes to get donations for the silent auction from Plum Pudding and Three Monkeys. Lowes will give carabiners or safety glasses for the goody bags.
 
SRNS:
Outdoor tournament will be on September 25, 26 and 27. The tournament will be a fundraiser for United Way.
 
Groovy Tuesday:
George reported that Groovy Tuesday held on four Tuesdays in April had a big turnout. Harve and the team did a great job of getting people on the court and teaching Pickleball skills. Lessons and paddles were raffled every week, and the participants enjoyed pizza supplied by Little Caesars. Marian said that Little Caesar’s were a delight to work with and would recommend using them again for other events.
 
Financial Update:
Dean reported that Trinity Hospice cashed the check for $2,000. Tax returns and 990N form were sent to the Secretary of State office. The committee voted to donate money to Meals on Wheels, need to find out how much they need.
 
Closing Comments:
Odell Weeks isn’t available for a meeting in June. Lori was able to book a room at the library on Wednesday June 4th at 3pm.
